THE STORIES WE TELL
Tried the whole posting every day thing in the past (even a couple of times a day), stuffing loads of hashtags in the end & trying to sell all the timeš. ā£You know what.. we hated it!.. with a passion. Felt like a slave to social media (if you have to make a living this way rather than being employed youāll know what we meanš
).ā£ā£
ā£ā£
In fact the more we did, we found the less interaction we got from followers. We even found it a little crushing at times to see people unfollow us, especially after all the effort we put in! ā£ā£
ā£ā£
What did we learn?? (this might help other makersš)... donāt get hung up on the details, the amount of followers (the ones who unfollow you were never going to be your ideal customer anyway), the amount of likes etc. ā£ā£
ā£ā£
Unless we have a specific advert on the go, we use social media feeds more to showcase and document our business journey, the discoveries weāve enjoyed along the way (with some spicy š¶ product shots thrown in so you donāt forget that we need to eatš). ā£ā£
ā£ā£
Thereās a time to advertise obviously cause you canāt live on thin air!.. but we definitely use our instagram & fbĀ feed a little different these days. We use it more to illustrate what we love in our work, the process, our unique spot on this earth. Weāre learning to tell a story through photography (thatās kinda our jam at the moš) rather than trying to push a product, one of the mistakes we made at the beginning & still see others do all the time. ā£
ā£
Like most people we value our privacy so we decided a while back not to show you everything (I mean weāre not 16... thereās gotta be some mysteryš)ā£ ā£
ā£
You know what, weāve not only enjoyed posting this way, but found thereās far less pressure to feed the insatiable monster that is social media. To boot, the amount of loyal customers weāve gained here in Ireland alone has grown and grown, itās been so encouraging and rewarding. I think weāll have to spread the FiĆ”in movement outside of Ireland š
